The PSAB (Procurement Strategy for Aboriginal Businesses) program works to help Aboriginal firms do more contracting with all Federal Government departments and agencies and assists Aboriginal Businesses to gain access to the overall procurement process.

 

The PSAB program, while led by Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada (formally INAC), is a Government of Canada initiative. All federal government departments and agencies are encouraged to participate in this initiative.

 

How does a PSAB Set-Aside work?

When a contract is reserved for Aboriginal competition, the department or agency indicates in its advertisements or request for proposal that the requirement is Set Aside for Aboriginal suppliers in accordance with the PSAB Program.

Bids are prepared and submitted by Aboriginal businesses, and are evaluated in keeping with the principles of federal government contracting, fairness, openness and best value for the Canadian public.
